How to Play Smash Karts

Battling for XP

Matches run for about three minutes at a time, set across a rotating lineup of arenas that the developers keep adding to. Every match you finish — win or lose — earns XP. Stack up enough XP to level up, and you'll be rewarded with coins, cosmetic items like hats and wheels, and character tokens.

Character tokens can be spent in the prize machine to unlock new drivers, some far rarer than others.

Grabbing Weapons

Scattered around each arena are item boxes marked with a question mark. Drive over one and you'll get a random weapon or power-up — everything from short bursts of invincibility to explosives capable of wiping out a whole group of opponents at once. Timing and positioning matter as much as firepower.

Weapon Arsenal

• Rockets — Straightforward projectiles, best used on opponents directly ahead.
• Machine Gun — Rapid-fire shots effective at close range.
• Bullets — A straight-line volley, useful in tight corridors or crowded areas.
• Mines — Deploy up to three as traps; most effective tucked around blind corners or near item boxes.
• Cannonballs — Four cannonballs fired in a chosen direction; precise, but capable of taking out multiple karts at once.
• Spiky-Go-Round — Wraps your kart in rotating spikes, turning any collision into a kill.
• Nuke — A high-powered missile with a large blast radius.
• Lobgrenuke — A TNT-style bomb placed on the ground, triggered by proximity or a short timer.
• Snowball Blaster — Freezes an opponent in a block of ice for a few seconds; touching the frozen kart destroys it.
• Invincibility — The strongest pickup in the game, letting you shrug off attacks and destroy any kart on contact.

Customizing Your Kart

The customization menu lets you mix and match karts, characters, hats, and seasonal cosmetics using coins, tokens, and gems earned through play.

Seasonal Events

Smash Karts regularly rolls out limited-time content tied to holidays like Halloween and Christmas, complete with themed maps and exclusive rewards for players who check in during those windows.
