Basketball Legends

Basketball Legends puts a roster of bobblehead-style NBA stars on the court for fast, arcade-style 1v1 and 2v2 matches. It's the sequel to Basketball Stars, keeping the same over-the-top dunks and three-pointers while adding a deeper roster and more ways to play.

How to Play

Matches revolve around three basics: shoot, dunk, and defend. Jumping near the hoop and shooting sets up a dunk, while timing your jump well against an opponent lets you contest or block their shot. Each player also has access to a supershot — a flashy, sci-fi-style dunk that becomes available once a charge meter fills up during the match, though not every player in the game has access to one.

That last point matters more than it might seem. Every character in Basketball Legends has a specific special ability tied to their playstyle, and those abilities aren't universal — a player known for shooting and passing, for instance, might not have access to the acrobatic mega dunk that a more athletic character does. Learning which players fit your preferred style is a real part of getting good at the game, rather than just picking whoever looks fastest.

Teams and Modes

There are 16 selectable teams, each modeled after the branding of a real NBA franchise, with three players to choose from within each roster. You can play solo against AI opponents, team up with a friend cooperatively, or go head-to-head in 1v1 or 2v2 matches. For longer sessions, a full tournament mode is available, alongside quick play for shorter matches and a training mode for practicing shots and timing.

Controls

  • Move — On-screen buttons or arrow keys, depending on platform
